Hair LossWhen you think about hair loss, you often think of it as a problem that occurs with age. While that is true to a certain extent, it’s also a common misconception to believe that only older individuals can experience hair thinning or loss.

No matter what your age is, anyone can experience it. It’s much more common than you think. If you’re struggling with insecurities caused from losing your hair, try to take some comfort in knowing that you’re not alone.

You’d be surprised to find out just how many well-known celebrities actually experience this. Some suffer in silence while others openly talk about it. Read on to find out which celebrities have experienced this or are currently dealing with it.

Female Celebrities

1.) Christina Aguilera: Experienced hair loss due to traction alopecia. This is a common problem with female celebrities, as many of them frequently insert hair extensions or require updos that constantly put a lot of tension on their hair.

2.) Tyra Banks: Developed a condition known as alopecia areata. This is typically caused from your immune system going haywire, but in Tyras case, she felt it was due to stress. Stress can cause hair loss among other negative effects on your body.

3.) Kate Hudson: Struggled with it due to hormonal changes after giving birth, also known as postpartum alopecia. This is another common cause of hair loss and typically goes away on its own.

4.) Kourtney Kardashian: Experienced it likely due to traction alopecia. Another possible cause was stress related. Kourtney received treatment to help with the regrowth of her hair.

Male Celebrities

1.) John Travolta: Has a receding hair line, also known as a widows peak. This means that your hair is balding in the area that it’s starting to recede in. This problem is much more common in men, although women can experience it as well.

2.) Mathew McConaughey: Experienced noticeable hair thinning that caused him to seek over-the-counter treatment. Despite his efforts, it has been an inevitable part of life for him. It’s much more common for men to go bald or experience hair thinning if their own father had lost his hair.

3.) Mathew Richard Lucas: Suffered from alopecia since early childhood. Treatment likely wouldn’t work on his condition, but Mathew turned his circumstance into a positive thing when he became a comedian.

4.) Anthony Carrigan: Another celebrity who has alopecia areata. It seems to be a problem that many celebrities suffer with. Anyone can develop this condition. Some people are born with it, while others experience it later in life.

It just goes to show that hair loss can happen to anyone regardless of your wealth, age, race, or gender. Hair loss is out of our control. It can happen for a number of reasons. The most common causes are:

genetics,

vitamin deficiency,

illness,

disease,

stress,

alopecia,

post-partum alopecia,

and more.

Sometimes the cause is treatable, while other times it might not be. If you’re worried about it, take comfort in knowing that it’s usually treatable. This problem is much more common than you think. Celebrities suffer from hair loss just like we do. It’s easy to forgot that they’re human beings with the same kind of problems we all have. Money can’t fix everything, even for celebrities.
