hairIt’s a new year and you know what that means! People exchanging their old looks for new ones and trying out hairstyles they have never had before. Why spend another year with the same hair do and not go for something different? Below are a few suggestions.

  1. Pixie

Whether ultra-short or a little on the long side, pixies are awesome and versatile. They can be cropped, layered, messy with bangs, with spikes, asymmetrical, or anything in between. Even those who have thinner hair can make this hairstyle work for them as they don’t have to worry about getting their hair to behave.

  1. Interior layers

Also called invisible, or ghost, layers. It is a type of cut which adds texture but gives the illusion that it is all the same length. This is great for those with thick hair and want less weight on their head.

  1. Rounded Bob

Rounded bobs are fun and give a bit of shape other than just straight, curly, or wavy. The rounded bob with a stacked nape gives an appearance of volume, which is great for those with fine hairs. This hairstyle can be worn with or without bangs.

  1. Curls

Why just have straight hair? There are those who believe that having curly hair looks unprofessional, but it is not doing the work, you are. It isn’t as though your hair is an alien being controlling your every move. The curls can either be anywhere from light curls to “Wow, I don’t think I have ever seen hair that curly!”

  1. Asymmetrical

An asymmetrical hairstyle can be any length and it can be anything from an asymmetrical shag to an asymmetrical bob, or something else. Asymmetrical cuts can also be used to try two different hairstyles at once, such as pixie on one side and a chin-length bob on the other to get a feel for which haircut the person likes best.

  1. Beehive

Let’s go a little retro. I’m not talking about the Marge Simpson beehive, I’m talking about the shorter beehives. It is simple to do and there are plenty of tutorials out there you can learn from. This is great for those who want a little volume and especially those experiencing thinning.

  1. Bun Updo

Buns are versatile and can be worn for any occasion, from just an everyday style, for work, or for more formal events. The bun can be worn high, low, or in between. The bun can be braided or twisted. So many ways! As with the hairstyle above, buns can be sued to hide any possible hair thinning or hair loss.
